The gazebo was purchased as a kit from COSTCO and delivered in three very large boxes with hundreds of parts. These kits are nice, but it still took three men because of how the roof had to be assembled.

The homeowner’s goal was to be able to walk outside into a covered area, but due to how the home was built, additional construction to the roof line wasn’t practical or affordable, so we came up with this alternative. Once the gazebo was constructed, we lifted it onto pedestals to raise it a few inches so it would overlap the gutters. It doesn’t rest on the gutters; it is simply for runoff and so the homeowner can exit during a rainstorm and not get wet.

The concrete patio was too small, so we built the deck over it and expanded the footprint for entertaining.

We also replaced the privacy fence (to the right) which had an impact as well.
